Bachelor of Science in Game Art & Design is one of the accredited online degree programs at The Art Institute online which concentrates on the artistic side of games - not computer programming. You will strengthen your basic art and design skills, and then you'll learn how to design game play and background, create characters and their environments, and apply your knowledge of video and computer games to evaluate game products. You will also learn to plan the game environment and determine choices for characters.

Requirements
The prospective student must be a high school graduate with a high school GPA of 2.5, or hold a General Educational Development (GED) Certificate with a score of 257 or higher, or a bachelor's degree or higher as a prerequisite for admissions. Students must have strong drawing skills to succeed in this program; therefore, a portfolio of 10-20 drawings must be submitted for evaluation during the application process. Drawings should demonstrate current competency with figure drawing and use of color, texture and shading. Specific advice regarding acceptable file formats and proper submission of portfolio examples will be provided by an admissions representative during the application process.
In addition, students must place directly into our college-level mathematics and composition courses. Students placing into transitional courses will not be admitted to the program.
