The Media Arts & Animation online degree program begins with a foundation in drawing, color, character design and computer applications. Under the guidance of an industry-experienced faculty, you'll examine advanced 2-D and 3-D animation principles as well as story development, background design, scenic layout and special effects. You will work with program specific software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, and Discreet's 3D Studio Max.
At graduation, you will have an individualized digital portfolio to showcase your creative skills in traditional and digital 2-D and 3-D techniques and abilities.

Requirements
The prospective student must be a high school graduate with a high school GPA of 2.0, or hold a General Educational Development (GED) Certificate with a score of 225 or higher, or a bachelor's degree or higher as a prerequisite for admissions. Students must have strong drawing skills to succeed in this program; therefore, a portfolio of 10-20 drawings must be submitted for evaluation during the application process. Drawings should demonstrate current competency with figure drawing and use of color, texture and shading. Specific advice regarding acceptable file formats and proper submission of portfolio examples will be provided by an admissions representative during the application process. The prospective student must also exhibit competent drawing and design skills by submission of portfolio and sketchbook consisting of drawings from life (animal and figure), of 10-15 pages. Photocopies of drawings will be accepted. A faculty review committee will determine if you possess the necessary skills for admission to the Media Arts & Animation program.
